Yep I'm a nerd. I embrace it. hey, I didn't spend that much time craming Greek and Hebrew in my head not to use it for important things, like unlocking meaning in the very word of God or coming up with cool blog names.

long time no blog

so i've done a bazillion things since my last post. i will explain. no it is too much. i will sum up.

survived school, made it to brief bit of summerness, promptly filled it with too much driving.

went on a camping trip with bob, had a ton of fun, kept having post traumatic stress syndrome moments feeling guilty that I wasn't studying for Hebrew or writing a paper only to be followed by that wonderful soul-cooling feeling of realizing I was DONE. we stopped where we wanted, saw what we wanted including two, count them, two instances of genuine clogging. there an embarrassing story involving boones farm. ask bob, she tells it better. all I can say is it is not my fault I am utterly clueless when it comes to trashy booze (like) things. I drink cider, wussy yuppie near-beer.

went to bowling green, got a fabulous new haircut. new in that the one I always get when we go to bowling green and my hair grows long in JC. Went to the USA vs. Morocco game in Nash Vegas, it ROCKED even though the US lost. we were on the Moroccan side and it was the coolest to be around that many people who are ecstatically happy. we saw andy and missy, which of course was awesome. we ate german food before we saw an international game. we figured it was the closest we were going to get to the world cup.

car died, stupid battery. had to take Seth's grandparent's car to the burg. Still have a Conway Twitty CD from their car, bet their getting tired of the Dave I accidentally left there.

Got to the burg in time to eat, change and bake at Spencer's baccalaureate. for those not of the west tn persuasion, that's a church service they have before graduation. they wear the caps and gowns and listen to a sermon and the choir sing. it's graduation lite. less people in the stifling gym. it was good to see the fam and my brother in his grad garb.

went back to bowling green the next day to trade cars. got there late and decided to stay the night, left early the next morning, had to be at work by 3 that afternoon.

phew, i get tired just typing about it.

started the chaplaincy the next week. found out that "training" was following around the chaplain for ONE DAY. peed myself a little. on the day i followed her, she didn't even do a visit, everyone on the list was asleep. seems they like the "throw you in and we'll tell you what you get wrong later" method. i glad they don't use that type of training on DOCTORS.

though mostly terrifying, i will cautiously say it is going well so far. I talk to old ladies for ten minutes and then spend 20 figuring out how to fill out their chart.

to see pictures of the whirlwind tour, i will direct you the the link to my flckr site at the right
